The problem

A used device is worth what you can prove

Buying and selling used electronics is still a leap of faith. So good devices sell for less than they're worth, or end up forgotten in a drawer.

Photos that say nothing

A front shot won't show a worn battery, a dead key or a missing part.

Pricing in the dark

Without a proven condition, buyers lowball out of fear and sellers don't know what to ask.

Shipping without guarantees

Pay first and hope it arrives as promised. If it doesn't, the argument starts with no evidence.

of e-waste were generated worldwide in 2022, and only 22.3% was documented as collected and recycled.

How it works

From your drawer to its next owner, in four steps

Lens, game controller, headphones, action camera and external drive, each recognized by the AI
✓ 5 devices identified
01

Identify your device

Snap a photo or search the catalog. The AI recognizes brand, family and model, and shows what it's worth in your country for its condition.

  • A catalog covering every category
  • Market value by country
  • Computers, cameras, consoles, audio, phones, medical and industrial equipment

02

Inspect it with your phone's camera

Point your phone at the device and the app guides you by voice, following the protocol for each kind of device: what to frame, when to get closer and what to test. The AI checks every shot on the spot and builds the report.

  • Voice-guided protocol, no technical skills
  • The AI checks every photo and video right away
  • On phones and tablets, also a self-diagnostic and IMEI check
03

List and negotiate

Your device reaches the marketplace with its report and photos. Buyers make offers, you counter, and everything is on record with clear deadlines.

  • Offers and counteroffers in the app
  • Buyers can request another inspection
  • Badges and reputation for every user

04

Get paid without risk

The buyer pays and the money is protected. The device ships insured and tracked; on arrival, the buyer confirms it matches the listing and the payment is released.

  • Payment held until delivery
  • Insured, tracked shipping
  • If something doesn't match, a dispute opens with the evidence

A guided inspection for every kind of device

A laptop isn't checked like an ultrasound. The app builds the steps for each device, every step leaves evidence, and the AI turns it into a report buyers review before making an offer.

The AI

An AI that checks, not guesses

Every conclusion in the report comes from evidence the buyer can see too. What the AI can't confirm, it says so.

Identification

Recognizes the model from a photo or label and places it in the catalog.

Evidence analysis

Reviews every photo and video for dents, cracks, moisture and missing parts.

Video tests

Asks for power-on and function tests; on phones and tablets, also a self-diagnostic of screen, sensors and battery.

Device identity

Records the label and serial number; on phones, checks whether the IMEI is reported stolen, lost or locked.

Follow-up questions

If something isn't clear, it asks for the missing photo or test before closing the report.

Fair value

Estimates market value by country, model and condition.

FAQ

What people ask us most

What is eWasteAI?

A marketplace to sell and buy used electronics (phones, computers, tablets, medical, lab and industrial equipment) where every listing carries an inspection report made with artificial intelligence and backed by photo evidence.

When can I use it?

We're in early access: the Android app is in closed testing. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know when it opens in your country.

How does the AI inspection work?

The app identifies the model, guides you by voice, step by step, with your phone's camera to photograph and record every part of the device and, on phones and tablets, runs a self-diagnostic of screen, sensors and battery and checks the IMEI. The AI analyzes that evidence and builds a report with the device's condition and what is left to check.

What does the buyer get?

They see the report and photos before making an offer, can request an extra inspection (video call, at their site or the seller's, depending on the device) and, when it arrives, confirms it matches the listing before the payment is released.

How does negotiation work?

With offers and counteroffers inside the app, with clear deadlines to respond. Once there's a deal, payment and shipping are coordinated on the same platform.

How is the payment protected?

The money is held until the buyer receives the device and confirms it matches the listing. If something is different, a dispute opens with the evidence from both inspections.

What can I sell?

Phones, computers, tablets, watches, consoles and audio, but also appliances, medical and lab equipment, and industrial and farm machinery. The catalog grows with every category.

Which countries?

We start in Colombia and the United States, in Spanish and English. If you're somewhere else, leave your email and we'll factor it into the rollout order.

How much does it cost?

eWasteAI charges a commission when a sale closes. Rates will be announced to the waitlist before launch.

What do you do with my data?

For the waitlist we only keep what you enter in the form and use it to tell you about the launch. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Read the privacy notice.
